He is Here | Christ’s Immaculate Presence in the Sanctity of Life

May 6th, 2024.

“He is here—not crashing in with light that makes our tear-sore eyes ache, or with demands that we believe in a list of assertions; he is here like a star whose tender light cannot be dimmed by a legion of darkness. He is here like the swell of new buds after winter. He is here like a lullaby sung in a night to a fretful child. He is here [like] the stir and stretch of a newborn child….

“This tiny one, woven of love, is a sign of God’s sweet life continuing in the world.” — Sarah Clarkson, This Beautiful Truth: How God’s Goodness Breaks into Our Darkness.

Penelope Monson 🕊️💕

My faithful, miracle sister, born March 18th in our home at 12:43pm, her blessed bundle of newborn weight at 8.15 lbs; an 8.15 lbs that has brought more love to home than I ever could’ve thought   The warmth and tenderness that emanates from her newborn spirit is something so beautiful, bringing such immaculate love to my broken world of injury, filling me with magical hope. From the very moment I caught her when she first entered this world, to this past hour I rocked her gently between my arms after one of my paralyzing seizures, heaven has made its mark in such a sweet way, filling my darkest wounds with a balm of emulating beauty.

The gift of life is so powerful, so precious, and so divine. I feel to honor its sacredness here, knowing that while the world flaunts the lies against children, the testimony of our voice for them lights far beyond any loud “beat of Babylon's band.” At my darkest moments, evil has persisted to exclaim to my weary, broken heart with the taunt that my life is not worth living another day when I’m in such pain: a thought I have to defeat every day of traumatic brain injury. But as I’ve witnessed the growth of my sister’s magnificent life, beginning at the glorious intimacy of conception, to the tickle of her tiny toes on my fingers, and the first breath in this wide world, I have been reminded how divine and matchless Father’s gift of life really is; life mighty enough to conquer the pangs of darkness and death, and rise beyond this world and its terrors. Life mighty enough to bring our heaven to earth and fill the hurt of this world with pure, giving LOVE ❤️

As I cuddle my dear new sister Penelope in my arms and rock her to sleep when I’m able, I thank the Lord for His love enough to live for us, to send us miracles, and bring us life through blessed babies.

May we rejoice in what life Father has given us, and in us, and the life Jesus fulfilled on that blessed risen day of resurrection from the tomb of death   Life is truly not ours to take, but ours to relish and treasure every day of eternity.

I CHOOSE LIFE, even in the darkest of my trial.

“One human life is as precious as a million lives, for each is infinite in value.”
