YOUR Mantel

Updated: Oct 12, 2021

Hey All,

I want to start by saying, this is my first blog post, so be patient with me! I might make mistakes, misspell words, or do something wrong technically. Don't worry, I will get better and will improve as I go!

Imagine a mantel in a comfortable living room that holds many objects you cherish (pictures, trinkets, vases, etc.,). Each item is arranged perfectly, creating a dainty accent to the small room. As you comprehend this matter, think of what is resting on the mantel. Are the items stable so they cannot fall? Is your mantel cluttered with too many small things? Do you feel like the objects bring the room a serene feeling?

While you start to imagine, you might begin to picture the mantels shown on the TV show, Fixer Upper. Yes, they are beautiful and I love their home ideas, but before you think back on their home design and go to watch an episode, I want you to think deeper for a moment. What does the mantel symbolize to you? Just ponder for a minute.

To me, the mantel might symbolize our lives and the objects set upon it might symbolize what we do in our lives and our priorities. Our lives (mantels) can feel cluttered, messy, ugly, or empty right now, but that is why you are thinking about it! Using this interpretation, what is on your mantle, or in other words, what are the priorities in your life? Do you feel good about what you spend time on? Keep pondering and seek to improve! Write down what area you want to improve in and spend more time on it! We are building our mantels together and this is the start to becoming closer to Christ.

My mantle is with Christ, my family, my talents, and serving others constantly! I am here to share it with you, so you can build and better yours! Bye!
