Merry Christmas Everyone! Here's my short message for this bustling holiday season:
This is a month full of holiday cheer, where music, lights, wrapping paper, stickers, hallmark movies, and glitter clutter our homes. We can't get away from it wherever we go. It's in our cars, closets, and grocery stores. The glitter and ribbon even follow us everywhere by sticking to our bare feet. No matter how much we turn down the radio or vacuum the carpets, the traditional "Christmas" will be sprawled all around. However, our hearts and minds can still be focused, rather than curdled in a tinsel mess, enabling us to recall the warm memory of Christ, the King, who was born two millennia ago in a quiet stable in Bethlehem, cradled in His mother's arms.
This year, I invite you to remember the babe who once was born as you receive His gifts, recall the wise men, feel the peace of the shepherds, and gaze at the still manger. Feel His love, radiate His light, and give what once was given. "Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace" is who makes our Christmas more meaningful. His warming presence and light will pierce you.
